HEAD/GROUP TEACHERS are credentialed elementary school teachers; many with advanced degrees in child development and/or elementary school curriculum.
CCS teachers have lengthy experience as progressive educators, and are responsible for planning and developing curriculum. This involves researching materials, arranging field trips, and integrating all subjects into the chosen social studies unit (we do not use textbooks). Attention is given to individual learning styles, character building and successful socialization. CCS teachers practice an activity-based learning-by-doing methodology, with emphasis on collaborative study, independent thinking and educational accomplishment.
