Bel Air Presbyterian Preschool, a Christian program with developmental emergent-curriculum philosophy and accredited through NAEYC, is seeking candidates for preschool lead and associate teaching positions. These positions begin at the end of August 2010. 30 hrs/week and 40 hrs/week positions are available. Typical work months are 10-month (September-June). The Lead Teacher position starts at $34,000 per 10 month contract. Salary range for Associate Teacher positions is $21,000-22,000 per year.
Candidates for Lead positions must be capable of leading their own classroom including: assessments, curriculum, environment and the management of subordinate staff.
Candidates for teaching positions must meet the following qualifications:
•Bachelor of Art or Science degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education or closely related field.
•Early Childhood teacher permit or credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. *A minimum of 24 ECE units as a part of degree or certificate program.
Candidates for lead teaching positions must also meet the following qualifications:
• Prior professional experience in classroom leadership is required.
•At least 3 years teaching experience in a preschool with young children (0-5 years old).
The ideal candidate is a motivated teacher who thrives in a team setting and has a commitment to life-long learning. He or she also has a basic knowledge of the Internet, email, and is comfortable with Microsoft Word.
