We are seeking an Intervention Specialist for our client's facility in Pinellas County.


Responsibilities:
• Understands, accepts, and abides by the client’s philosophy a mission statement in all hi/her school activities.
• Assists with the implementation of the IEP for each student served.
• Maintains all students’ records and files according to the Models Policies and Procedures and will follow up on all requests for IEP an MFE dates.
• Use computers and other technology provided to assist students.
• Writes lessons plans to accommodate IEP goals and objectives.
• Teach all subjects following the client’s course of study or as assigned.
• Prepares and administers all standardized tests and directed.
• Maintains confidentiality concerning all student information and any professional matters.
• Works with the teaching staff to improve standardized and proficiency testing results.
• Uses only forms or reporting records approved and/or adopted by the client.
• Gathers, maintains, and submits, as directed, all information and forms related to the use of technology.
• Keeps accurate records on each student such as grade books and progress reports, lesson plans, attendance records, and behavior/discipline records.
• Maintains the classroom environment and discipline in an orderly fashion conducive to good learning.
• Works in a professional and cooperative manner with others to achieve duties and responsibilities.
• Acts in accordance to the directives and assignments given by the Administrator.
• Ensure IEP’s are written or completed on line in a timely manner.
• Provides information to school staff regarding needs.
• Collaborates with teachers, psychologist, parents and Administrator.
• Participates in the Intervention Assistance Team.
• Researches and locates prior school IEP.
• Keep Multifactor Evaluations current, updated every three years.
• Plan and deliver services for students with special needs.
• Work closely with the classroom teacher and provide resources to support student progress.
• Continuously maintain current training and updates pertaining to policies.
• Be aware of student status for proficiency testing and provide proper accommodation.
• Acts as mentor for the Intervention Specialist Aide staff member.
• Schedules IEP meetings as needed.
• Collaborates with professionals outside of school to continuously remain updated on student’s progress.
• Provide EMIS forms to the data entry personnel for all IEP students.
• Attend District Trainings.
• Serve as liaison and maintain positive relationship with District ESE Department or SERRC
• Coordinate meetings and schedules to locate and facilitate related services as contracted (i.e. speech, school psychologist)

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree


Experience Notes:
• Bachelors Degree
• Valid special education teaching certificate/license for the State of Florida is required. Highly Qualified status in all areas is preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of criminal history check and TB test.
• Meet Education standards as applicable.
