Summary
Develop and execute curriculum to teach multiple subjects- Chinese Language Arts, math, science, and social studies using Mandarin Chinese in an immersion environment. Be accountable to parents and administration for managing students’ safety, behavior and academic success. Work with other teachers and administration in building the overall reputation and enrollment of the school. Qualities of initiative, creativity, and ownership are paramount. This position will report to the director/owner of the school. Location in NY/NJ area.
Responsibilities
• Understand early childhood behavior and management
• Have an understanding of the teaching of core content areas
• Develop materials, methods, environment and assessment to ensure attainment of academic goals
• Work effectively with other teachers
• Continually improves him/herself as a teacher and professional
• Works with administration to market the school
Requirements
• Masters degree in early childhood education, TESOL/TCSL or bilingual education
• Native speaker of Mandarin
• 4+ years’ teaching experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational and management skills
• Strong computer skills – internet, MS office, use of technology in classroom
