The Summer Institute for the Gifted provides academically advanced students with an interesting and challenging three-week experience by creating a community of student learners who share common interests, abilities, and goals. The program combines remarkable academic courses with cultural, social, and recreational opportunities.
We are seeking energetic, experienced instructors for our 7-11 grade program hosted at Dartmouth College August 1 – August 21. Qualified applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), a minimum of three years teaching experience with gifted students (preferred), and specialized experience or study in the subject and content are of the courses selected to instruct. Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Implements individualized daily instruction based upon the unique abilities of each student providing for the appropriate, intellectually stimulating academic environment.
•Develops detailed lesson plans that explain method used to implement the course goals and objectives.
•Attends all Instructor meetings for the program.
•Attends and meets with parents at the designated parent meeting.
•Attends the Final Program Ceremony on the last day of the session.
•Submits a final, professional assessment of each student on the computerized web interface prior to the closing ceremony.
