TEACHING OPPERTUNITY IN BEAUTIFUL CARIBBEAN TOWN.
CEED works with volunteer teachers to implement a practical life curriculum in communities of need.
Imagine yourself in a tropical paradise, leading children in painting a school, implementing a city garbage collection project, and demonstrating vividly to them how what you are teaching them—math, reading, analytical skills, cultural, historical, and environmental awareness—can be applied in real time to improve their lives and their community. This is an opportunity to take a child by the hand and lead him or her into a rewarding future.
The small coastal town of Cabrera in the Dominican Republic is our first location for making a difference in the lives of children and their community by providing quality teachers and administrators where they otherwise would not be found. The opportunity for educated people is great but the number of educated people is not.
The CEED Foundation is offering qualified, dedicated volunteer teachers a chance to experience another culture and contribute to the future in a concrete way. Our teachers come back enriched in their sense of having genuinely improved the lives of children. They are better teachers for having given of themselves and their skills to the truly needy. It is the experience of a lifetime—with plenty of stories to tell and a sense that they left a part of their hearts behind, entrusted forever to the grateful children and community members of another land.
How CEED helps teacher volunteers:
Although this is a volunteer program, we realize that some teachers may need subsidization during their time in the Dominican Republic. CEED is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to help teachers who have the heart and desire to help but don’t necessarily have the economic means.
CEED provides assistance in the following areas.
• Living expenses
• Housing
• Health insurance
• Teacher materials
• Travel to the Dominican Republic
Volunteer positions are needed immediately. Training starts on the 16th of August and classes begin August 30th.
